With all my current grudge against Amitabh, I still think he can kick Johny Depp's b*** any time. This should be more interesting than Shakti
P.S. - It is not a question of us v/s them
You really have to be smoking some really cheap doobies to even try and compare the two. That's the end of it truthfully...IMO. And you think Bachan can kick Depp's butt?? What the heck are you thinking...assuming you are?

Reason: Amitabh's range is too limited as a character actor. Even in black he leaned towards overacting/hamming (as is the norm with bollywood leading men). Amitabh is Amitabh be it in Dewaar, Shaan, Sharabhi or Sholay.
Depp on the other hand is versatile, he becomes the character be it Sweeny Todd, Willy Wonka, Edward Scissorhands or Swashbuckling Captain Jack Sparrow.
I can Imagine Depp in *any* of the Bhachans roles but I cannot even begin to imagine BigB as Edward Scissorhands. Of Bollywoods leading men I can think of, **maybe** Kamal Hasan or Amir could portray such subtle vulnerability. Not Amitabh for sure.
Edward Scissor Hand was my first Depp Movie and after that I saw "What's eating Gilbert Grape" ... Emotions all over - everywhere in those two movies.

I do not care about new Amitabh movies. But we can have a whole discussion about Amitabh's acting range / versatility. It is unfortunate that he got typecast as an "angry young man". But watch movies like "Abhimaan" or "Alaap" or "Saudagar" or "Amar Akbar Anthony" or even smaller cameos in "Jalwa" to see his acting range. He is the only actor that can wear a "Dhoti", smoke a "beedi" and can sing "Yeh Hai Bambai Nagariyaa".

Though debatable but I have found Pacino to be the same in all his movies - Godfather / Scent of .... / Taxi Driver .... / Scarface .... Donnie Brasco ....... hes always Al Pacino and a shade tweaked for the character .
Tom Hanks / Kevin Costner are different altogether and get into the skin of the character .... and yet another one .... Daniel Day Lewis (My Left Foot / Gangs of NY / There ll be blood )
On Indian front nobody comes close to Om Puri / Sanjeev Kumar for their transformtion of characters and yes ... Kamal Hasan ....
Sometimes I feel Al Pacino and Amitabh Bachchan are similar figures in the 02 'woods .
