Here are some specifications for Laptop
Make-Dell, 40GB hard disk, 32-34 GB used that means only 6-8 GB free
512 MB RAM, 1.6 Mhz speed(may be), Windows XP operating system
Lately I found, any video clips like you tube, yahoo or google videos are not playing properly.
Means it plays, pause again plays etc
We watch movie songs, movies as well as TV programs ONLINE but that is also not playing properly
So my question is what options I have to see all this things properly
Some one suggested me to
Increase Hard Disk capacity? to say above 250-300GB
Increase RAM size? to say 1GB or above
Increase speed above 1.6?
What is best option?
Suggest me economical option as I don't want to spend some hundreds of dollars
Let me know if more details required
Thanks

Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.
On the spot - these 3 suggestions came to my mind also . I would first clear any unwanted programs on the laptop - if that does not give adequate performance , get an external hd and transfer the heavy data / files there , simultaneously cleaning the space in the original hd .
If still the performance does not meet requirement , add additional 512 mb RAM - you can even try this before attaching a hd but lets understand - your HD is reaching its limit .
What processor is it ? Right click on the task bar when running movies / sw which gives problems , go to task manager and check the performance tab - you will see how much amount of memory and cpu is being used and if you are running out of resources . XP unlike Vista is not a resource guzzler .
As mentioned above , it could most likely be your internet speed .

Here is more information
I don't think its related to Internet speed
Also I suppose it makes no difference if laptop is connected by Modem or via wireless, correct?
I have one more PC at home & I can see all videos & movies, that means not related to internet speed. Yes my laptop is connected via Wireless
Yes I can certainly delete few files & programs to make more space in hard disk
Also how I can add another 512 MB RAM in laptop?
Of Course, if required I can buy external hard disk
Is external hard disk & USB storage device which is of 200-300-500GB are same or they are different?

if i were you i wouldn't jump on upgrading the hardware right away. if everything was working fine and you had this problem lately, it could be OS issue. try to remove unwanted programs, do spyware/virus scans. heck just do the clean install of OS and give it a try. for XP, 512 MB ram is more thn enough unless you are into some video editing stuff.

Here is further information
Yesterday I removed unwanted files like photos, songs, movies etc from hard disk.
Now I have FREE space roughly 16-18 GB in 40GB hard disk
Even after that problem is still there. Like I can't play video songs, movies or TV shows ONLINE.
As yanksingh says, may be I can reload windows XP. But wondering, I need to first take all back up for files & program which is installed on laptop.
Without doing this, can I just reinstall windows XP.
Also while checking add/remove programs, I found many unwanted programs are installed. By removing those programs, will it help me?
Also found for Java, there are so many programs installed. Like for every update there is one more program installed. So I have almost 7-8 different Java programs & size of all those is above 1.2 GB
Can I just remove all those Java programs & reinstall one latest Java from internet. Will that helps me?
In case I need to add another 512 MB RAM, is it just plug & play.
Or when I buy another 512 MB RAM, is comes with software etc?
Does it affect laptop working? Like I need to take any backup for files etc?
Please let me know
Thanks
