Hello there,
My name is Syed i am a Landed Canadian Immigrant, and currently working as a QA Analyst in USA.
I would like to know if there any Desis who live in Windsor and Work in Detroit,MI.
My Current Visa status in US is H1B and Green Card is pending @ Labor stage for more then 2 years Now.
I want to Explore the Opportunities of working in Detroit and living in Windsor, Canada. By doing this i want to Maintain my Canadian Residency status, keep in US Green Card Processing and down the Road become Canadian Citizen also.
Any thoughts?? or Directions or any Desis around who do this??
Thanks
Syed.
Yes !
You could do this. There is no problem . Move to canada and start living in canada and work in US and commute everyday to work and then all other things will fall in place ..

Any One around who is doing/done this.
Any thoughts will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi Syed,
I think it is a nice idea to live in Windsor and work in Detroit. I am pondering this idea for a while. I have a H1b from US and PR from Canada. I am moving to Canada by the end of June 2005 and need to see how I can work it out.
Someone told me that the only disadvantage may be you may have around a 2 hr wait while crossing the border. Let me know about your plans.
Thanks,
Raj
Hi Raj,
I have the same Plans.
I heard that the Delay is usually under 1 hour,
and like 80% of the people Living in Windsor, ON
work in Detroit, MI as there are no IT jobs in Windsor.
Also, i came to know that they mark these
kind of people as Frequent Travellers and they
dont have to go through the routine US Customs checks,
i dont have that much info on this yet.
Meantime if u are looking into this option i would
definitely like to get in touch with u and we can share
info as and when we find it out.
Here is my personal email id :
Keep in touch.
Also other CD members please Respond..............
u can apply for a NEXUS card for a faster movement through the Border
Search for it on cra-adrc.gc.ca

I am looking into the NEXUS program.
