When you go online to check the status, also try entering the next number rounded in 100, you can see the status of application of the next/previous person who applied for OCI.
I don't think your statement is valid. OCI Enquiry should be secure search site and no one can have access of knowing other people in line's status without combinations of their Passport #, and Knowledgement File# or Online REGITRATION number.

It says that you need U visa sticker and the OCI card, so if you do not transfer on your new passport, you need old passport where this sticker is.
Can any one tell me how long it takes to get to Toronto after New Delhi has dispatched OCI?
