Is anybody following the story of two young men killed in their landrover? Police says that some kind of scuffle with some other car led to this murder.
One of the guy's girlfriend was sitting in the back seat and survived. What I do not understand is how can this lady not remember anything about this murder? Media is not giving out much details about that lady. One weird thing (always happens in such cases) are mothers of this guys coming on TV and asking murderers to surrender. I wonder how many murderers "in their right mind" come out and confess their killing?
On a side note, the media always shows family and friends grieving over the deceased and saying how great/caring/loving the deceased person was. I do not have any objection against them expressing their feelings. It is quite natural. But only thing is that during one of the recent accidents, where three guys crashed their car and drowned somewhere near Barrie, Toronto Star then released a story where it revealed that all those guys were drunk and in no state to drive. I find it difficult to feel sorry for the victims or their relatives.
Same in the case of Robert Pickton murder, where media showed relatives being regaling over his sentencing and grieving over their daughters/sisters. But where were they when the same daughters/sisters were on streets selling their bodies. Why weren't they available to provide emotional/economical support during those times?
Sorry if I may sound so harsh, but may be I do not have that "Canadian mindset" - if that is the right word to use
Meghal, I totally agree with you. BTW, the $50,000 reward will probably just help the police solve the crime, but I wonder how it will help the family???
But this is not the only issue - look at the gun and drugs culture currently hounding the city. Nobody is pointing to the obvious source - its not the weapons, its the mind.
