During the last 25 years, we cannot pinpoint exactly anyone year from which things started going wrong way regarding the Tamil freedom struggle in Sri Lanka.
After the state sponsored genocide of the Tamils by the Jayawardane govt. at the beginning of the 80s, it was a political cartoon about tears of blood flowing from Subramanya Bharathi's eyes making a bridge to Lanka across the sea, which could to an extent bring the feelings of the Tamils on either side. Then it was heartening to see the photograph in newspapers of the 4 main Tamil extremist leaders Prabhakaran (LTTE), Sri Sabarathnam(TELO), Balakumaran(EROS) and Padmanabha (EPRLF) standing shoulder to shoulder and forming a common front. But alas, just like the ancient Pandya, Chera, Chola and Pallava kings, hardly separated by a few 100 kms, but fighting and destroying each other, the same fate happened here too. Prominent leaders like Amrithalingam too were gunned down. Apart from the Eelam Tamils, we had plantation people, muslims and those from India settled in Lamka speaking the same mother tongue. LTTE could have been magnanimous enough to accommodate the leaders and the tamils from other regions too. But the organisation decided to charter its own course. In between, came the Rajiv Gandhi assassination after which people in TN became hardened.
We feel really sad for Prabhakaran. But he has chosen to die a hero's death in the battle field. We should be also thankful that after Rajiv's death, he has in no way troubled people of Tamil Nadu with any terror strikes. We pray God Almighty, no such tragedy befalls us either from him or his organisation in future too.

COLOMBO: More than 35,000 trapped Tamil civilians on Monday made a dramatic breakout from the LTTE- controlled areas in Sri Lanka's embattled north
with President Mahinda Rajapaksa handing out a last 24-hour deadline for Tiger supremo V Prabhakaran and his top aides to surrender. ( Watch )

Proclaiming that the mass exodus indicated a "complete defeat" of Tigers was imminent, Rajapaksa warned after this his forces would make an "all out" bid to wrest the last 20 sq kilometers area from the Tiger control on the northern coast.

As the breakout was unfolding two suicide bomb attacks suspected to be LTTE handiwork were reported in the no-fire zone in which 17 people were feared killed.

Displaying aerial video footage of masses of trapped civilians making a beeline for freedom shot by Sri Lankan spy planes flying overhead, the President said the exodus has come as his forces made a significant breakthrough by capturing LTTE defence fortification bunds outside the no-fire zone.

"The video footage clearly shows that the people are defying the rebels and are escaping. They are running for safety," Rajapaksa said.

The President went to the Air Force headquarters to watch the visuals of Tamil civilians making a breakout for freedom.

Elaborating on the ultimatum, a defence spokesman said that the ultimatum had begun at 1200 hrs local time.

4.Every time he was to caught he either took political protection to escape or killed Kannada policemen.

5.Killed by his own cousin who gave poison laced buttermilk and was further gunned down by Tamilnadu police.

6.Got guns, funding and training for his men from LTTE and the same guy called Kaduveti Guru was involved. This guy is a MP candidate for PMK now!.


LTTE Velupillai Prabhakaran:

1.Killed Srilankan, smuggled narcotics and kidnapped tamils and held them hostage. His group is largely involved in Credit Card, Debit Card and other financial frauds.

2.Supported by Tamil Nadu politicians and hailed as the bravest tamil and as a freedom fighter against sinhalese.

3.Has hidden Billions of dollars all over the world and is controlled by his relative KP from Thailand.

4.Every time he was close to be killed took the ceasefire as an option and rebuilt his defenses.

5.Got guns funding and training initially from India now all parts of the world. He is supported by the same guys who supported Veerappan and is currently boxed in with a few days to live.

6.Will be shot by his own people like Hitler and burnt to keep the spirit alive of the free Eezham and we will have lots of citing like Elvis or Morrison of Doors.

Very interesting observations.
Yesterday, the TN chief Minister MR. Karunanithi said that Prabhakaran of the LTTE was not a terrorist in his eyes. This was a very stupid statement by the thespian and he has clarified today that his words were taken out of context. he has said that though the LTTE started as a legitimate Tamil Elam organaisation, that some of LTTE cadre had turned into terrorists. Even then, he still has not completely denounced Prabhakaran as a terrorist. Everyone knows that Prabhakaran was behind the killing of Rajiv Ghandi and to say that he is not a terrorist is pure BS.
