I live in New York, I just got my PR, and now I have to land, I am thinking, I should go by car, but I have read somewhere some problems, I need some clarification, if anybody can help me out.
1. If I go by my own car, do I have to pay car Import duty ?
2. If I say, I will be back to ny in 15 days. would create any problem to my PR card process ?
Thanks in advance
Bharat

I actually entered via a rental car(huron border). That time(Nov 2003) Hertz allowed me to drop the car in their Pearson Airport drop off location(I picked up from Chicago).Of course I paid like $100 extra. No problem faced with POE officers. I told them that I sold my car in USA.Actually one way rental will help you to prove them that you are going to stay.
It's good not to mention that you are going to visit Canada for 15 days.During return back to US you don't care about canadian POE as you have to face US POE officers only
