Iam planning to land canada by mid april.Iam taking leave from my job for 3 weeks and then planning to come back to india and then plan to go back to canada after 6-9 months.My dad and my brother would be staying there.I wanted to know can I leave canada without collecting the PR card,i.e is it necessary to collect PR card in person or they would mail it across to the address which I would specify which in this case would be place where my dad and brother would be staying.I need to book my tickets and Iam confused whether i need to book a one way ticket and book the return ticket from there since i dont know when i would collect my PR card and this would turn out to be expensive and in case if they are mailing the PR card then there would be no problems for me since I can plan my trip properly and then my dad can courier it across to my home in india.Please help me out

You do not have to be present here and then collect. When it reaches some one can collect and dispatch the same to you.

Buy a return ticket when you book. Leave the date open and re-book it here for RETURN. There seems to be no pressure on booking after the 15th of January 2009.
10 days are sufficient to re-book and confirm.

If one come with a one way ticket and shows some urgency e.g. sickeness in family back home by way of email etc, CIC normally issue immediately if Canada to India ticket purchased from local canadian travel agent along with mail about urgency shown or fax to them.

I know one case CIC issued in a week.

How much time one must stay after landing.My husband also wants to go back to home country after 15 days. is it possible to come back with out taking the pR
should he get the return ticket or if he takes return ticket he shouldnt get his return seat booked?pl. clarify.

If you have friends/family anyone in Toronto, you can give the address of that family and CIC will mail your PR card there. Once the family/friend receives it they can courier you the same. We got our PR cards delivered to our lawyer since we didn't know anyone in Toronto. That way a 10 day or 15 day trip is okay.
