Hi,

As promised we did speak to the Embassy and they have said a TD can be issued multiple times depending from case to case. We are outside of Canada because of our Canadian employer and the embassy said it's no problem to have TD issued for the second time for our kids. I'll suggest you speak to Embassy and explain them why you don't plan to use the TD this time and would like to have it issued later; their answer will be the best for your worries to put at ease.

Hope it helps.

Jona

hi,

i am looking for a job since Nov 08 and could get even good interview calls. Companies are getting so many resumes that they either wait for 15 days before acknowleding you or calling you a prelim round and then will either tell u that they would decide by another 10 days or send a negetive reply.

Only if you are a carpenter, gardener, welder, dish washer or similar trademen that you can get job in a day here. Otherwise u must be prepared to waste your money here. I have only 2 months money left as the govt is also stopping my child benefit for going back to India twice last year. So its either to push myself into poverty or take family next flight back as soon we reach the bankruptcy.

Even security gaurd needs courses and licensing so until you are a hardcore IT person with quality expereince , u cant expect to find work.

I am in Vancouver which is still better than other cities and jobs are many but not what we can or would do or get selected for.

How is the job scenario in the retail sector? Are companies like Best Buy, Staples, Futureshop laying off people or still hiring?

Rgds.

Rajan.

Dear Friends,
Not only Canada, but also many of the great countries are passing through such bearish trend, it does not all country will die in a bearishing.
Please see your situation lying in india or elsewhere, what can you save right now and in future too. Compare it and take decision with how many houses can you make with salary in india or elsewhere?
If you are a businessman, then how would you developing your business in next decade, compare it with income from canadian source or elsewhere.
Take decision quickly, time does not wait for anyone.
It spoils your chances to perform better or bad.
Understand the situation and take situation.
Whatever your decision will help you to settle down thinking and earning handsome money. Because ultimately money is everything if you leave domicile country.
regards,
CMA Girish S Prajapati

No sector was spared as the latest job losses affected nearly every sector of the economy and brought the number of jobs eliminated in the past three months to nearly 1.8 million. It was the economy's worst three-month performance since 1945.

Since the recession began a year ago, a record 3.6 million jobs have disappeared.

No sector of the economy was spared in January, with manufacturing bleeding 207,000 jobs, construction 111,000 and retail 45,000.

Companies to sack workers included Microsoft, SAP and Boeing, with more than 60,000 job losses announced on one day — January 26 — alone.

Few retailers went out of business (Linen n things, Circuit City, ) and many retailers including Starbuck have closed many stores and laid of thousands of workers during past three months.

While US lost close to 600000 jobs, Canada lost 129000 jobs in January 2009.

From the start of the new year, Layoff are picking at a much faster pace in Canada compared to US

The U.S. economy is, at best, halfway through a recession that began in December 2007 and will prove the longest and most severe of the postwar period. The world's first global recession is just getting started.

Expect the world economy to suffer through 2009.

Good luck and keep well,

General Motors Corp, nearing a Tuesday deadline to present a viability plan to the U.S. government, is considering as one option a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing that would create a new company, the Wall Street Journal said in its Saturday edition.

Talks between the United Auto Workers and General Motors Corp. central to a turnaround plan for the struggling automaker have broken down. A parallel set of talks between Chrysler LLC and the UAW over similar concessions were continuing over the weekend but little progress had been made,

The breakdown of talks at GM and the stalled negotiations at Chrysler come just before Tuesday's deadline for both automakers to submit new restructuring plans to Washington as a condition of the $17.4 billion (U.S.) in federal aid that has kept them both operating since the start of the year.

"It doesn't seem like the stakeholders are really prepared to give a whole lot," said independent auto industry analyst Erich Merkle. "It's a high-stakes game of poker right now."

GM has already announced plans to cut 10,000 salaried workers worldwide, or 14 percent of its staff, impose pay cuts for most remaining white-collar U.S. workers and has offered buyouts to its 62,000 U.S. workers represented by the UAW.

If GM cannot win agreement from the UAW and creditors to reduce its debt, analysts say the Obama administration will face a politically tough choice: either pump billions of dollars more into the struggling automaker or steer it toward bankruptcy as some critics of the bailout have urged.

Keep well,

Cheers!
