In the intial part(s) he travelled to India and showed us how India had been contributing to maths as we know it. The evolution of the numbers which we use currently namely 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 called the Hindu-Arabic numbers; contributions of Aryabhatta of Kerala and various developments in India, which we as Desi's have no idea about!.

Again we need another Gora (Danny Boyle) to show us the real us !.
