Hi Guys,
I am wondering about Canada pension plan eligibility criteria.
My father is a Canadian citizen. He lived in Canada for almost 5 years and he lived in India for 5 years. He has dual citizenship card & he is 69. He is coming to Canada.
He stayed here 3.5 years continously. He landed in 1998 first time in Canda.
He applied for renewing Canadian passport in India at new Delhi Canadian Consulate.
He got the new Canadian passport as well as old expire passport.
Is he eligible to get some pension?

It is unlikely that your father qualifies.For CPP,he would have had to contribute from his wages in Canada.Looks as if he has not.So no cpp.
As for OAS he has to have satisfied the minimum residency of 10 years.At thatpoint he could qualify for partial OAS and also for supplements.
He lived in Canada for total 7 years. Is he eligible for partial OSAP?
