Hi Everbody !!!
Can anybody throw some light on the following issues:
1. Once I apply for Canadian citizenship along with kids, Is the kid's presence in Canada a MUST at the time of Oath Ceremony?
2. Lets look at this scenario ..... Kids fly to India after Citizenship application filing and remain there for indefinate period. In the mean time I receive their citizenship papers along with Canadian Passport. How can we handle this situation if kids want to fly back to Canada.?What happens to the passport?
3. Under PIO card, if one decides to work in India, Is his income taxable in Canada OR India? I don't know how the Dual Citiznship modalities will work out from taxation standpoint.
I would greatly appreciate your comments.
Thanks

My general question is Once you get Canadian Citz do you have to
1) inform Indian embassy
2) will they give you new passport or the old one is ok to keep?

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.

Thanks Pramod !! I do appreciate your comments.
My both kids are below 14. So based on your views,no test for them nor any Oath ceremony required.

Regarding your following quote :
In response to your 2nd question, you have to surrender your IMM1000 and or PR card at the time of the Oath. They are not bothered about your passport. They will keep the PR card with them and stamp the IMM1000 (landing paper documents) as void and would give it back to you. You have to apply for the Canadian Passport later. However, if your kids are not in Canada and are in India at the time of Oath ceremony, you would not be able to submit their IMM1000 or PR card and they would not get the Citizenship Card. You will have to inform them of this and they would tell you when and where to submit the PR card or IMM1000 and get the Citizenship Certificate, which means you can not get their Canadian Passport if they are in India.
Please visit the site http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizen/ceremony-info.html for more information.

Please correct me if I am wrong : So technically, even if I inform them that kids are in India for education giving proof of schooling, they can atleast consider granting Citizenship Certificate.... Correct. In case they do so ... What happens next? Is there no way to secure passport at all based on Citizenship Certificate? Please guide me accordingly.
Your third reply is well understood.
Thanks in advance
Hi loonietoonie,
In my reply I also mentioned about the official Canadian Citizenship website from where you can get answers to most of your questions. You can also call them at their call centre for toll free and get specific answers.

I think I also mentioned that they may not give citizenship certificate for your kids if they are not here at the time of Oath Ceremony. Now whether they would consider giving the citizenship certificate to your kids who are not present here is some thing I can not comment on. But most likely you will not get it if the kids are not here and you do not submit their PR or IMM1000 and hence the question of getting or applying Canadian Passport does not arise. But still you best bet would be to talk to the authorities and get the correct answer from them.
Good luck
