I know there are many threads on Citizenship & process

Since its more specific, I want to know -

1. After Landing in Canada went back to Middle East around 2004-05. Stayed for almost one year. Now in Canada & eligible to apply Citizenship
In the form they want to know absence from Canada after getting PR

So what should be the logical reason. Should I say went for Job in Middle East

Next - in Middle East most of us have PO Box address & that too company's PO box address. But during immigration process I took personal PO for myself which is written in application at that time. Also there is Resident address (but not official postal address) which was also written in application at that time.

So during my stay in Middle East for that year, while completing Citizenship apllication which address I should write ? Company's PO Box, Personal PO Box or Resident address

2. I shifted from Toronto to Edmonton last year. I was with friends for almost 2 months. So officially changed address at bank as well as on driving License

So should I show that address for 2 months in Citizenship application ?

3. After that I shifted to another city because of job. Stayed at Company's Furnished apartment for 1 month & then shifted to Friend's house for 1 more month while searching rental apartment. During those 2 months I took Personal PO box with Canada Post. Finally I shifted to rental apartment on my own

So should I show this 2 months with Personal PO Box address also in Citizenship application ?

4. Now for my family - My family left Toronto around last week of June. they went directly to India for 45-50 days. While coming from India, they directly Joined me in Alberta at Rental apartment around August 2nd week.

So for those 45-50 days, should I show India's address or My Personal PO box address or what in Citizenship application ?

5. Some one told me if you stay more than 6 months outside Canada after getting PR, while citizenship process I may have to submit PCC from that Country. Is it true ?

Anyone in this forum has similar case & they were ask to submit PCC from that country

Please share

Thanks

1) Just do the same thing here in the Citizenship application also. Provide them with both the P.O.Box address and the location addresses, SAME as you did in your application for the Immigration application. (You should have a copy of it)

2)Please do the same. Provide them with a list if you can with the dates in chronological order and separate sheet to match the location as written in the application, with dates. Either way they will be correct. (Because you might have changed the address in the DRIVER"s License, Bank or the Health cards etc., which they will find out and will become relevant.)

3)YES and YES, you do provide them the addresses that you hopped from location to location with the dates, if possible. Keep track of the reasons for personal guidance.

4) When you go on a holiday to the country of origin, you can say that they traveled all through India, but the base was at..... ONE Location. The choice is yours to make. But stick with one at all times and DO tell others about it as it might become important if they call for an interview. So, decide between you and the rest of the family. (They are cagey B... during the interview, they separate you and then grill you, due to privacy rules)

5) It will become necessary if and when they ask you for it. Are you preparing for it now? Or do you want to wait for it? If you want to, then if there are delays, you will have to bear with the delays. Now the question is HOW LONG will it take? Some have tried for years to obtain one. If you can get it while you are here and earlier in anticipation, then you are ahead of the game. Does it carry weight? YES, in your application also.

You can wait to hear or see other forums on Citizenship, such as 'trackit' and other web sites for your thorough understanding of the process and the movement of the applications that are in the pipeline.

Hope this helps you a little.

Freddie.

Thanks ftfl

Stil not clear about item 4

My family was in India for 45-50 days
So we have postal address in Toronto till say June

They joined me in alberta in say 2nd week of August
We have postal address in Alberta from August

Now what will be ther address during July.
Of course I can provide ONE address in India ( which was base address )

But my question is - Should I show this ONE base address in India for ONE month OR
Should I use my JULY postal address in Alberta for my family also ?

Also one more -
I know if myself & family applying together for Citizenship - we can send all application together in ONE envelope
But what about FEES - can I add for each member & pay TOTAL at bank in one single receipt which I got from CIC

Will that be acceptable? As there is no table or column in application forms or papers
So how CIC will know- I paid for myself or for all family members

Thanks

There is no confusion. If they were in India for 50 days then they post the address that they were in India. Give in the Citizenship application the address that they have as the BASE. After they move back give the address you also are providing as yours. Run their chronological sheet as to what they did and where they were at, with time and place.

As regards the payment of the fees, please make a payment for each applicant and attach the receipt to each one of the application form and staple it or use a paper clip to do the same. Make a note on the payment as to who is paying it. The additional cost will be negligible.

Now you have your 'P's and 'Q's separated.

Though the whole family is applying together in one envelope, each one provides EXACTLY the date and times as to where they have lived in Canada or in India. That way there is no confusion and you can validate them with their travel documents. Everything will be right on- Bingo.

Now sit down and do it.

Freddie.

I too have few questions related to Citizenship application

Principle applicant say me - come to Canada, got PR etc & went back to India for 8 months
So while completing application for citizenship & writing about Absence in Canada - I will write Reason for absence as WORK

Now say along with principle applicant, family members also come to Canada, got PR & went back to India for 8 months. Please note spouse is 'Housewife'
So what should be valid reason for spouse while completing application for Citizenship & writing about Absence in Canada. Options are -
"business, pleasure or vacation, visits to family members, etc"

Also if someone travels to say Mexico via USA ( Just transit in USA for 1-2 hours)
So while completing Absence in Canada - what should be the Destination Country ? Mexico or USA

Can some one clarrify ?

It is my opinion that you should fill in 'visiting Family and Family Members' as the reason. That is appropriate.

As regards the intermediate stop, while traveling to any destination with an intermediate stop for transfer of planes etc., does not merit a mention. The destination where you spend a longer period of time counts.

Hope that answers your doubts.
