Downloaded Vista Service pack installed on Lap top and now there is no voice it says NO Audio Output Device is installed .
Secondly of late IE is hanging up with yahoo mail any suggestions .

Go to the manufacturer's website and download and install the audio drivers. This should take care of it. You can find all the drivers by simply searching for your laptop's model number. Just go to the support (or downloads) link on the website.
In my opinion, IE is the worst browser one can use. I started using Firefox when it came out back in 2005 and never went back to IE. Chrome is a good alternative too.

The hanging of IE has nothing to with with either Yahoo or itself.
It's clearly your Vista ungrade that hosed everything.
Service packs are notorious for hosing all types of applications and devices.
Why did you upgrade to service pack?
Was there anything specific you needed from it?
Otherwise, it's just asking for trouble and making more work for yourself.
