Empty rhetoric.
The Russians couldn’t defeat Taliban (Mujaheddin)
Americans (NATO) can't defeat Taliban.
Oh, forgot to mention that for close to 800 years India has been humiliated & millions slaughtered.
Why? Indian rulers have been complacent.
Peace loving nations, people and religions need to unite to confront and defeat this menace. This include China, USA, EU, Russia, Iran etc.
The world should not allow another 9/11 or 26/11.
A few days back, there was this news item that the Sikhs living in the SWAT valley were forced to pay millions as "Jaziya" tax protection money. They had no other choice as their homes were forcibly occupied by Taliban and their leader had been kidnapped. In the Hindutva India, even miniscule Jews or Parsis, settled 100s of years ago happily practice their religion.
We do not find it strange that the likes of Javed Aktar do not smell anything wrong as their secular noses smell mono spectrum odour only.
India last year spent Rs.88,000 crores on gold which was 22% increase over the previous year (72,000 crores). So it will not be strange if Ghazni/Ghori history repeats itself. As usual, whether it is Congress or BJP, our forces are sitting at the LOC, yawning and waiting for the enemy. When the enemy infiltrates in the wee hours, we literally doze off. It will be a better policy to go and meet the enemy in his den. We can once for all settle the issue in about 10 years time and the people of the sub-continent will start having a peaceful life from 2020 or 2030.
But as someone said our politicians think of the next elections. There are no statesmen to think about the next generation.

Remember the Indian Airline hijack by taliban from Amritsar to Afghanistan? BJP was in power. Jaswant Singh himself went and handed over the terrorists to taliban. With this type of cowardice, will they wage war on taliban in pakistan? This would turn into a full fledged war between the two countries. Aam aadmi will suffer. BJP by itself is unfit to rule.
KM
Whether it is Ram Mandir, Hot pursuit of terrorists and destroying terrorist camps across the border, Kargil, Kandahar, Bofors and the now illegal money in tax havens, the BJP will have non of these. Vajapyee thought that the people owed him the PM's post as "reward" for the "service" he has done to his party and the country. And now it is another octagenarian LKA's turn to think so and not act on anything.
Between the dynasty rule and senile octagenarians rule, we seem to have no other choice.

Kalyan Singh refused to shift out from what he saw as his ancestral home, believing he was safe living among the Orakzai tribals. But then, a fortnight ago, Hakimullah descended on the Ferozkhel valley and ordered members of the Sikh community, including women, to gather in an open area. They were told they were now in the custody of Taliban, and that they must pay jazia (a religious tax imposed on non-Muslims living under Islamic rule in the medieval times) or convert to Islam.
The soldiers of the Islamic emirate then picked up Kalyan Singh, tortured him in custody for 10 long days even as negotiations for the amount to be paid as jazia kept apace. Herjeet Singh, a local Sikh, quotes an eyewitness to say, "The militants convened a shura of their own and passed the verdict that Sikhs should pay Rs 100 million as jazia. Our elders pleaded that poor members of the community have no means to raise such a huge amount." Herjeet is among those who sneaked out of Orakzai before jazia was imposed.
The Sikh community’s plea prompted further talks, with the Taliban scaling down their initial demand to Rs 40 million, ultimately agreeing to Rs 12 million as the jazia, a source told Outlook. Kalyan Singh was then set free and asked to raise the demanded amount. His and 50 other families were held hostage. They were warned that any attempts to escape would lead to the slaying of men and conversion of children and womenfolk to Islam. "This is unheard of. Our forefathers lived among the Pashtuns for centuries and were never subjected to such humiliation and barbarism," laments Herjeet Singh.
Kalyan, these days, is in Peshawar, persuading the Sikh community here to somehow raise the whopping amount. Sources say he has managed to collect Rs 3.5 million. Only when Rs 12 million is paid fully will the Sikhs in Ferozkhel be set free, provided protection and allowed to practise their religion.
It's hard to comprehend when they had a chance to flee in 1947, why they didn't migrate to India? I knew they wanted to stay away from the pain, but in the long run it would've paid off. They would be living in India with respect and freedom. Anyhow. What can you expect from Pakistan now? The Sikhs, Hindus, Sindhis, and other minorities are aliens in their own country (Pakistan). The govt. looks elsewhere. They always had an appalling record when it comes to minorities. Check out India, on the other hand - appeasement of minorities is a day to day affair. Elections, did I hear that? At least in India they could hold public offices and are not subject to the discrimination in the form of taxes - Jazzia or whatever. Agree, India also has it's own share of religious tensions(Gujrat, Mumbai, Delhi, Punjab), but I highly suspect if it's anything at par with what Taliban is imposing with their Govt. blindfolded.
Yes, we have our own Bajrang Dal, Ram Sene, ShivSena, etc. But, we have a strong voice of majority and media that speaks against any of these groups' barbarism/acts. They can be tried/charged and a case be initiated in courts (remember how Bal Thakre was stripped off his voting rights?).
To sum up, unfortunately the world in general and India in particular couldn't do anything to help the Jazzia imposed Sikhs, who're even ousted from their own homes . Pakistan Govt. say it's their internal matter, just like Gujrat riots was India's. Go figure...
No doubt, Pakistan is in deep
