Vivek, pls let us know what your profession is.
Secondly, we do not say "U People" in canada. It is considered abusive. Start practicing "You guys".

sorry, I saw your previous messges. Kindly maintain one link so that we know whom we are dealing with.

Desis with Engg. background have a real hard time here as they land up with factory jobs.

Marketing is not recommended as it is not in favor of your family, financially and socially.

accounting jobs are good as long as you have experience in accounting softwares and systems. Indian CAs get exemption upto level3 of CGA. With MBA finance, no idea if you will be exempted. Moreover, the fees are very high. so you may not want to think about requalifying for couple of years.

Hmmmmm......care to explain this one? Being in marketing, I have found it beneficial in every way----yes, including financially & socially. Have I misunderstood something here???

Garvo...I am not aware of your background and what product do you sell. My observations say that if your want to sell an industrial product, first of all, co. would ask for local market knowledge and experience. In Retail marketing, the jobs are insecured and low paid. Moreover, the jobs are commission based, in some cases there is a token base salary+commi. Again, for a newly landed desis, desi english accent becomes a major hurdle. For outdoor jobs, car is required in most cases, driving around in snow and remaining outdoors in -20deg is not favorable for most of newly landed desis. Some mktg jobs require travel of about 20 days in a month. This definately does not please wife and kids who are new to this country.

it is advisable to find some indoor job which assures a fixed income and gives you a chance and also some time to get used to the climate and people.
