tell me, how about me suing canadian Government for giving my husband Skilled Visa when there are no job opportunities in canada? How about me suing canadian Government for the mental torture and agony and stress level and family disruption due to unemployment of my husband, who was earning good salary, business and me too having business. If there are no job opportunties, then canadian Government should not stamped our skilled visa.We left everything at the age of 40+ and you know in India, nobody gives you job after 40 and who is to blame. I blame canadian Government and immigration for putting us in such situation. on top of it, they have refused us child benefit and universal benefits for our children who 7 and 3 years old giving explanation that, we are not eligible. when enquired, people are telling canadian Government don't have money.

Dont blame the government for lack of research on your part.. Did the government come to ur house and force u to apply for PR. I guess not..
I think the mistake u guys made was put all ur eggs in 1 basket... It is obvious both of u had good careers... it would have been quiet easy for one person to migrate first and if he succeed the spouse follows..
Is this the governments mistake?
Making a career in a new country is a very very difficult task and coupled with the recession it is a killer..
U guys just chose the wrong time to land.. if u guys had landed a year or two earlier may be things could have been easier.. Most laid off people are still without jobs, for new immigrants it will be much more difficult..
My suggestion is move back to india , and try to return in a year or two.. ur PR allows u to do that.. Hopefully by then things would have improved..
I will share my own exp.. I was living in usa and was making great money and got my PR in 2003, I landed and returned back to usa.. i lost my US job in 2004 i still did not move to canada , i moved back to india and came here in 2006.. when the economy had moved into a boom cycle.. got a job in 1 month and have not looked back since...
Timing and Luck is everything...

I have heard that, here in canada, people sue literally everyone for everything. for eg : If somebody falls on snow in front of somebody 's indendendent house, then the injured person can sue the house owner. If somebody helps us and gives us lift in their vehicle and if there is an accident, the person who took lift can sue the owner of the vehicle for accident,If a dentist treats a patient and she gets infection, then the patient can sue dentist.

CTB is based on past income , for new immigrants they will ask for income in india.. which may disqualify the OP from CTB..
Sometimes it is better to lie.. especially in cases where it cannot be caught like ur tax return in india..

Just saying that the Canadian Govt. does not enough money is not a valid reason. You have the right to ask CRA for an explaination, as to why your kids are not eligible for CTB
40 Plus is a risky age to migrate. You should have read all threads on CD before coming here. Still it is not too late. Join the university and do masters.

Thanks cd's for your reply. Actually yes, we are frustrated and disappointed, but we are not missing our aim in coming here-our children future. We had to come together as a family since, our visa was expiring in july. I have confidence in my husband's skill and experience. I am confident that we will succeed. what am worried about is my husband is very hardworking (always worked for 12-15 hours everday)and without work, sitting idle is affecting him.Mind you, his ex-boss, suggested that he should come back and work for his ex-company till recession is over, but we have struggled and more than half way through in settling down in canada and I don't wish to run away now.
Mind you, we will struggle, we have come mentally prepared for struggle and we will not give up easily. We both have worked very hard and saved since last 2-3 years (not losing even an single opportunity of making money) so, that we can make it in canada.I promise recession or no, by this time next year, we will be successful and will love and enjoy canada as you all do.
He received 2-3 telephonic interviews, in which they said it will take 4-6 weeks for second interview and in one organisation in sarnia, his references etc took sometime and maybe company hired somebody else.no idea. The recruitment agency said employer will contact for telephonic interview on a particular day and time and the call never came.We called recruitment agency and informed them, she gave us another day and time and still call did not come but recruitment agency told us that, his ex-employers gave excellent references. Do you all think, we should call them and thank them for telephonic inter view? please guide.
once again thanks for all your reply. Don't worry it was just my sense of humour about suing canadian Government. We are here in canada and like marriage vows, we are with canada and its Government in happiness and sorrows. I am only sorry that, I didn't know about canadiandesi community till recently. i know recession is economic cycle and nobody can be blamed for recession. please keep sending me positive replies and that will built my strength in fighting this period.
