hi all,
My husband is working for a canadian client in GTA. his primary employer is in India. His temp work permit was approved under the pilot project scheme. His work permit is valid untill july 2010, he arrived in july 2009. Can he file for PR in canada? What is the process? Please advise.
It is the company that he is working for that is operating this Branch Plant here in Canada. If he is chosen to be the one to lead and if he gets established and continues with its operation and if he can get extensions totaling two years or more, then he stands to apply on his own, provided he continues to stay employed here with them.
The minimum requirements as this hits the post is TWO Full Years of work. So, based on this he has a very good chance to continue and stay here.
That does not preclude his spouse from entering and working independently in a profession that she is qualified. This is just for your information.
Freddie.
hi Freddie thanks for the info. But my understanding is that, he can also apply with only 1 yr of canadian experience, do u know how to go about it?
Please contact the legal representative there in india who obtained the Work Permit for you...
Employment visa and a Temporary Work Permit were obtained there in India through the offices of a Legal Department there in India. They will have the exact nature and the conditions imposed on the work permit. I would urge you to contact them and find out how you can proceed to obtain your PR status after the completion of ONE Year of stay on Work Permit. It may benefit more by doing it.
This website is informative and is not up to date. Please read on.
