Hi,
My daughter is in india right now and her canada passport expired. I am going to India to renew her passport to bring her back. I have a question regarding guarantor, Can my friend (doctor) sign as a guarantor and they are asking that the guarantor must know me personally for at least 2 years, but I am in canada and she is in India and we talk over the phone and we went to college together. Will they accept this? Anybody renewed passport in india please share? Thank you.

If you had the presence of mind, and got in earlier before the expiry, you could have just applied and paid he fees with Passport pictures and got it renewed.
Please see the requirements of a Guarantor as posted by Government of Canada Passport Office. Also they should be accessible to them to verify. So be sure that they are available "when they call" for verification.
"A family member or any individual residing at your address may be your guarantor provided he or she meets the specified requirements. Please note however that if you are the parent or legal guardian applying for a passport for your child, you cannot act as guarantor."
