Thanks in advance for your valued suggestions. My passport expires in about five months.

I have to renew my passport, the question is, once I have renewed my passport do I need to transfer my PR visa on to the new passport or just carry the expired/cancelled passport with the PR visa with the new passport?

I believe the PR visa is only required at the tim of landing after which the PR card would govern. The Visa itself is a one time entry Visa for immigration purposes that gets canceeled upon landing hence you would not need to transfer that Visa I guess

Thanks InCanada for your reply. So it means I can travel on my new passport and carry expired/cancelled passport with the PR visa when entering Canada.

If any one else faced the same situtation, I would love to hear your advice.
