Hello all:
I really need some advice from some of the experts here! My application (my wife is sponsoring me) reached CPC Mississauga yesterday, May 27, 2010. Now, in additional forms (for India IMM 3904) it asks "how many passports have u had"? I have had 2 passports, however, I only send photocopy of my current passport. Now my question is....
1. Did I need to send copy of my previous passport? Will this make any impact of my app being delayed/sent back?
2. Should I or Can I send this information (only a few pages) via fax to CPC - Mississauga? - CAN I SEND INFO TO CPC BEFORE THEY START PROCESSING MY APP?Huh
Perhaps, I'm just freaking out, however, it does say on the form "PASSPORTS"...what do u guys think??

Best is to call and confirm, but I think it's only current passport
I used to have 4 Indian passports, never sent copies of any other passport for visa, immigration, citizenship

Did u have those previous passports when u applied for immigration? And, you say you only sent current passport details? Correct?

Hey Minku, I always had 4 passports attached together and also, when I canceled my passport from Indian Consulate, they only stamped the current one
Also, you owe me a dollar - I was on CIC Call Center this morning for my case and since I saw ur post here, I asked them and they said it's not a requirement to send copies of old passport but not a bad idea initially
They said no point in sending now, only for some reason if they ask u and it's NOT a requirement per se

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND PASSPORTS
Photocopies of passports or travel documents for you, your spouse or common-law partner and dependent children. Include copies of pages showing:
• passport number,
• date of issue and expiration,
• your photo,
• name and surname (good name),
• date and place of birth.
If you live in a country different from your nationality, include a copy of your visa for the country in which you currently reside.
Note: All prospective immigrants must hold a valid regular passport. Diplomatic, official or public affairs........................... Canada.

Normally when they receive your application they will acknowledge with a FILE NUMBER for you. Until you receive such number, any communications that you make will not go to or get placed into your file or to your name.
So, hang in there till you receive such a communication from them. Then after receiving it, if you send any papers to them, it will surely get placed into it. You will also get a similar letter and a request for information. When that happens, you will have an opportunity to do it properly.
Next time go over the details thoroughly and with a fine toothed comb.
