Deepnovelties on Burnhamthope is an hopeless place.
My experience
On looking at the buffet menu we decided on Buffet and not A la Carte.
We started with starters and I had just one aloo tikki and one pakoda. then I took main course, chana masala, dal makhni, palak paneer and raita.
Chana masala, palak paneer and raita were extremely sour and I left the entire plate full and complained about the food.
The lady out there says we have changed it to mutter paneer on the buffet after the complaint and if you wanna eat that. I refuse for the mutter paneer as I was feeling sick. When we were leaving at the check-out counter they charged me for my food the full price of the buffet for just 1 aloo tikki and 1 pakora !!!! .On asking the manager he says that I can make fresh palak paneer for u , you had starters so i have charged. The lady knew exactly what I had but refused to tell her manager.....
Damn the question was not about the money but the fact manager being stubborn on his point...........
Most restaurantn canada are run by non professionals . These are Mom and Pop who do some home cookig and churn up something. the number of good restaurants in Canada can be counted on your fingers or maybe your fingers and toes

Fido.
Couldn't agree more. However, if any of you guys ever plan to visit Vancouver or for those already live here, do visit these fine Indian Restaurants. I am not promoting them per se, just had a great experience eating there on more than one occassions:
Vij's - This guy has mixed North American and Indian delicacies and what comes out is a great experience in food. You can also find his cookbook, and the restaurant has been listed in the NY Times for one of the great places to eat in Vancouver. Very very professional.
Ragaa - Great food, excellent and professioanl service.
Aggarwal Sweet Corner - One in the burbs. Low cost delicious food, couldn't beat it.
Tandoori Cona - Really good food. Service is ok (care less as the food is really good).
And, of-course Sarvana Bhavan for buffet lunch.
In Mississauga, I love Brar's. For Indian food, I always make it a point to not visit those mom-n-pops restaurants as the poor quality and service is always expected. They are only good for take-out Samosas, just like 'Halwai ki Dukaan'.
