Hi guys,

My brother in law is pursuing Diploma in Auto Engineering in India. He just want to know what is the scope and future of a diploma holder in this stream in Canada. He has plan to come in canada to pursue further education in the same field. What are the job prospects after the education over here.

If someone has an option of Mechenical or Auto engineering, what should he choose?

Anybody in the same field or having information about it, please comment

The requirements for Immigrants and their Professional Qualifications are constantly changing and is reflected in this publication.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp

Based upon this, after he qualifies in India and works for an Year at the Managerial Level, some time in the near future, he can apply if that suitable category appears as a required profession in the N.O.C. Groups.

For further education here, he first will have to obtain an entry into a University here with the educational marks in the field he has chosen. After he gets that admission into a University for a Degree Course he can show the Proof of Funds required for the Tuition Fees and his Living Expenses for the duration of his study here.

Automotive Engineering is a special field. Though the fundamentals have not changed very much, but with the current developments in this field, the Prime Movers are gradually changing and an Electrical or an Electronic Engineering Qualification might become more desirable for the future.

All of this is based upon the current Automotive Trend and where the future is heading to. As and when the Battery technology improves and the Charging Stations at various locations arrive on the scene, Electric Cars will become the order of the day and Bigger Vehicles with more gadgets will slowly arrive and will get built.

Automotive Engineering and Power Generation, besides the Computer Technology seems to be the career of the Future and it will be the best field to study, join and work just like what your friend is doing currently.

Freddie.

I would recommend Mechanical engineering since mechincal engineers can also work for auto industries.

I work for Autoindustry and most of the engineers we have are Mechanicla Engineers.

The Scope of work is broad for Mechanical engineers.

Hope this helps.
