Hello everybody,
Please help I am new immigrant 2 months back from india, In the beginning I have completed work regarding my bank account opening, Health card process, Admission for my son in School, G1 licence test.

Now I am Looking For a Job either as a Data entry operator or as an Office Administrative assistant work. I have prepared my resume according to Canadian format with help of PCPC.
But I think proper office job searching will take time. so I need any general light weight labour job or any call center job for my survival here in canada.
So I need some references or contatcts which can help to do so.

Thank you,
Vyasji

If your post is any indication of your ability to use Uppercase, punctuations, right grammar and spelling, you may want to seriously consider obtaining assistance in having your resume reviewed for a professional appearance.

Regardless of your skillset, if the resume has errors, you are losing out even a slim chance of being looked at by prospective employers. The job market is extremely competitive and some would point, discriminatory, etc, etc. Therefore, it is that much more important to have a professional resume.

Best wishes.

Hi vyasji_1967

Excellent suggestions by dimple2001.

Speak with the counsellors at PCPC or their neighbour ACCESS.

Best wishes on your job search.

vyasji_1967, You are expecting too much if you think somebody will help with job on the platter. It is not in canadian culture. Nobody helps here my dear friend, you have to help yourself. They will tell you to improve your cv, attend workshop, meet counsellors, upgrade yourself studywise, or even some people will go little bit further and give you some job links. :(

You know what, you need power to give jobs. Here people either don't have powers or they don't use their powers. :) Let me give you an eg:- I have served in shipping industry for 10 years. last worked with biggest shipping company in the world in mumbai. I left shipping industry 8-10 years back, still, today, if somebody wants job desperately in mumbai in shipping or freight forwarding, I can place them with one phone call. This is real help and power.Of course, I was working in powerful position and I was known for my performance. Whenever I placed somebody, they worked so hard that, they became head of the department or best performers in the organisation. I have lost count of the people I helped in last 10-12 years. Now also, my previous employers call me and ask me to send good friends/staff known to me. This is reference and influence. Please don't think I am boasting or something. I know many crtitics of mine on the forum will be attacking me, but I am least bothered. ;)

Since you are new, my advise to you is join some call centre for 6 months, even if you have to work free/voluntarily and go from there. this is the first option i.e if you have some money as savings to survive for 6 months. Second option i.e if you don't have savings then, go and register yourself in HCR personnel (Mr. John Mackintyre), meet him tell you are ready to do survival job but no heavy lifting. He will place you in magna for $11.5 to $12 per hour. ofcourse you have to pass their simple arithmetic test and attend one day orientation. Mind you, it is our observation that in magna, out of 400-500 labourers in each company, majority are Indian, Asian and vietnamese and these people are all highly qualified and been serving here past 10-15 years. (Like this they have more than 25-30 companies in Toronto.). There is no harm in joining such organisation initially to get canadian experience, since these jobs are stress free and keeps you physically fit and ofcourse money counts.

I can only advise you, you have to take your own decision.
