Does $3 billion includes the cost to prevent beggars from flocking at the airport exit? As an Indian, I just felt very shameful that foreigners are greeted at India's capital by beggars asking for money. Will that $3 billion ensure that we Indians develop a habit forming a queue and not shove or try to get ahead in the line? Does that $3 billion includes preventing mistakes like Manglore airport.
I do not want to sound cynical, but dollar numbers or picture of future plans does not necessarily translate into good facilities.
Regarding comments about cleanliness, why do we need religion (fear of sin) to create a habit for cleanliness. While I do not have much respect for the Swaminarayan sect, their temples, even in India are very clean and their functions well-organised. However, I bet same people, the organisers and attendees, won't have any issues littering once they are outside the temple campus.

would have agreed with you if I had not have seen Delhi Metro....it is almost 10 years operational....and it is still sparkling clean. It is 100 times better and cleaner than TTC or NYC Metro.

Compare the life of Delhi Metro v/s TTC/NYC metro.
Also, what is the source of revenue of Delhi Metro. It might be highly subsidised. I do not see that kind of Federal funding for TTC. So the cost of maintaining and upgrading is passed on to tax payers. There are talks of putting a toll on 400 series of highways. So that means any 905 or 519er using the highway will be paying for TTC should that plan go through.
Are Delhi state citizens being taxed to cover Delhi Metro operation costs?

Treat and talk about India in it's own respect and perspective. Just like any individual or human being, a nation should be compared to itself and it's own progress and not by someone else's. Look at what India was about 10 years ago and where is it now.

One should give it to India that despite of all the issues, it's growing rapidly and attracting the whole world's attention (evident from G20).

Don't worry man, Have patience and things will improve in future. If u don't believe then look at the last 10 years patterns how India is grown. Country like Canada took 100 years to develop and I hope u will give at least 50 years to India to become developed. Our next generation will definitely see it.
Even Canada spent Billion $$$ on G20 and u know the results.
