The saddest part of this entire fiasco is that nobody will be penalised, including the contractors who built such shoddy bridges. And even if anybody got caught for corrupt practises, it will take almost 25-30 years before the Indian judicial system will give its verdict.
The govt in Canada is not very efficient (efficient but nowhere near as good as pvt sector), and still look at the decent infrastructure and systems we have here . (i have dealt with a couple of levels of govt here several times and there is scope for improvement)
Now look at what we have in India in terms of infrastructure and it is very clear how incompentent the govt in India is.
They should have outsource the entire activity to the private sector.
