I am soon moving to new house
Next week I have a walk through from Builder
I know usually builder carry a check list kind of thing
Is there any other thing I should be careful like -
1. Do owner has to check roof etc. in presence of builder
2. Should we operate all appliances provided by builder ( is that possible ? )
Any other tips which might be helpful

Regardless of the extent of your inspection, you'll always find more than a thing or two for a while after you move in. Having said that, yes, you can check whatever you want to check. Don't start climbing roofs and risk yourself. If you really want a check, you could hire a home inspector, but for a new construction, is not required.
You can always do your own walk-through before the builder walk through so you are not rushed which tends to be typical of these builders. Make a note of things that don't jive and bring it up to the builder during the walk-through. You should have hydro, heat and water available before closing (builder should have them hooked and running at his expense), so you could check appliances, etc.
