I worked as a CDA level II dental assistant for 6 years for a company and I quit this job because I got an opportunity in sales and marketing in another company. I worked for 3 months with this company and they decided to reduce the number of employees so I got laid off recently.
Will I be able to get employment benefit and how will this be calculated ?
I would welcome all advice from people in similar situation or who knows of EI benefits.

What is your location? In which country did you work for 6 years? If Canada, yes you will qualify for EI. For more information, see http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/ei/application/employmentinsurance.shtml
