I had nearly finalized the aptmts at
Crescent Town
7, 9 & 11 Crescent Place
Toronto Ontario M4C 5L8
(Victoria Park & Danforth )
The aptmts have direct access to subway, are reasonable in rent. My first choice was around don mills+sheppard area. Since the availability of aptmts there starts from Dec, I had finalized these aptmts around victoria park. But now someone told me these are not good or safe for single female.
Any inputs from seniors would be appreciated.
I wont recommed that place. I think they are relatevely safe, but there are other issues. You could visit that place (go on a weekend) and make your own decision.
Some of the issues I found in 2005 were smelly corridors, cockroaches, too many desis from south east asia etc. Eventhough subway access is convenient, cockroach infestation is the deal killer as they move across apartments. Unless the management has done major cleaning and renovation, I would not recommend that place.
Are you talking about Macey ave? I think Denton Ave is ok. But this is 2007 situation.May be I am wrong.

hi if its a perfect NO FOR anybody who has moved here to have a better quality of life. i visited there last weekend to hunt for apartments and what i saw i cudnt beleive my eyes. it was smelly and very bad ventilation and the lawn area surrounding the building was littered all around. the moment i entered this building you could only smell bad food odours. i would recomment anybody wanting to go there.the area is inhabited with mostly south east asians and in that too bangla people seem to be dominating.......never seen a building like that even in india or middle east
if any cd is sliving there u should ask the property management guys to do something about the appearance and stuff
if you are looking for near to the subway or ttc look for apartments on danforth/main street and also dawes road where u have buses practically at the door step of your apartment.
Don mills and Sheppard is a good area too comparing the Danforth area.
Dawes Road and Eglinton/Vic Park etc ater other areas just a short distance from Subway with much better apartments. Crescent Town used to be good but not anymore.
It depends more on your personal situation. i.e.
Do you need to use Subway to work ? Then stay there and ignore other things like cooking smells, poor maintenance and stay for 1 year and get into a more affordable house.
If you want to stay in an apartment for more than 1 year...then think otherwise.
