Hello
I am planning to visit Disneyland in February/March time frame.

1. Any thoughts on a good package
2. I searched online and am a bit confused. Does most of the packages include a tickets to the themeparks? How does that piece work?

Thanks

T

If a package includes tickets, it will specify that. There are different types of tickets available:

Here is a link that explains different types of ticket options -> http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tickets-passes/

Personally, I'd suggest keep away from the Park Hopper option. You can't finish one park in a day, forget about covering 2.

Also having a "no expiry date" is not worth it.

Cheap tickets are available locally. I bought my tickets from this place, which found the cheapest -> http://www.officialticketcenter.com/ You can just walk in 7 days a week and buy your tickets. Even the local Walmart sells the tickets, which is cheaper than the gate price.

Parking at the park is $15 / day which includes in/out privileges

Keep looking on various search engines for a all-inclusive deal - flight + stay + car rental.

If you don't mind attending a 2-hr timeshare presentation, check this link -> http://stayhereplayhere.com/ Their room rates are much cheaper than what the hotel will offer you. But you have to book in advance. Some offers even include park tickets, in that case, you'd have to attend the presentation on day 1 to get the tickets.

If plan on driving watch your speed specially in South Carolina and Georgia. I have to admit, When I drove down there, everyone was speeding, and do I, inspite of all the warnings everyone gave me, but I stayed with the crowd.

...and lastly... have a wonderful trip.....

Disneyland is in California. Disneyworld is in Florida. Not sure where OP is planning (typo or really Disneyland) but driving through SC and GA would get you into Disneyworld.

That is DisneyWorld, as others have said.
Feb-March is a good time from weather perspective, but some of the attractions may be closed or under renovation since it is off-peak season.
I'd recommend flying into the Orlando airport instead of driving.
It is a long, long way and most of the drive is just boring interstate (I-75 or I-85 and I-10).
Patrolling is very strict along I-10.
SC is a known trap for outof state drivers, too

If you are staying off resort, you could rent a car at the Orlando airport.
Rental cars are cheap in the US compared to Canada and it will give you the flexibility of driving between the Disney area, the Universal area and Sea World area (if you like).
Or, if you are mostly interested in Disney, try to stay in or near the park.

There is a little bit of flexibility in ticket prices if you buy from the resellers or consolidators.
However, be very careful of websites offering cheap tickets to Disney Parks.
A lot of those are either outright fraud or have some conditions attached that require you to buy something else or attend timeshares, etc.
Some hotels sell tickets to its resident guests as well and as long as it's a reputable hotel, you can buy through them as well.

The thing with package deals is that you should try and analyze the cost of stay + the cost of tickets and see if it makes sense.
Sometimes the hotels create a package but doesn't save you much money in the end.
Figure out what the average cost of a similar hotel in that area is, add the cost of tickets and see if it makes sense.

Good luck and have fun!

You can try Expedia, when I was lost and compared all offers from various sites we found and bought resort/tickets/options via Expedia. I'll suggest to call them, that's what I did. Have the information from their site and call them and don't hesitate to ask for a discount.

Be aware that some package deals have too many restrictions and you end up paying too much for never heard of it.
Go for a week minimum, if you want to enjoy all theme parks. Try to book hotel near the parks will save you time. Week booking will be at discount price.
Don't forget to take swim suit with you, it is great experience at beach and at hotels pool/Hot Spa. Summer cloths advisable.
Park your car and Take pictures at main WEL-COME ENTRANCE of Disneyland and near "HOLLYWOOD" giant sign.
I have visted 5 yrs ago, will visit with next year again.
