This is pretty mind boggling that non of the Fast Food Chains Like Macdonalds Burger King, Wendy's etc offer Halal or Kosher Meat.
I just get amazed that never mind Halal This might look a far fetched Idea But No Kosher Macdonald's in Toronto GTA, Wow. What are these Fast food chains doing.

They have made billions of dollars of profits over the past half century. They are literally in every Muslim country as halal. in Israel as Kosher but non in Canada.

What kind of selfish policy is This...None of these Big Fast Food Chains can serve Muslims or Jewish community in Toronto.

I am no scholar but I can easily think they must be at least 1.5 million Jewish & Muslims living in Greater Toronto Area. SO Non of the these food chains can provide Halal or Kosher Meat at ONE SINGLE LOCATION.....
Unbelievable Macdonald's...Simply unbelievable isn't it!!

We are not asking you to start serving Halal or Kosher meat at all locations but Simply requesting for ONE LOCATION in Toronto, GTA, Canada which serves HALAL Macdonald's, Halal Burger King.....Kosher Macdonald, Kosher Burger King or Kosher Wendy's..

IS IT TO MUCH TO ASK THESE HUGE FOOD CHAINS TO PROVIDE US WITH ONE HALAL OR ONE KOSHER LOCATION IN TORONTO CANADA...

I guess presently Things look pretty grim....
Pls do add your comment so that we can make them realize!!

I agree ...second this comment and third it as well! Why not? I live in Dubai where this kind of food is available at every single Mc Donald & KFC outlet and my kids love the chicken nuggets meal that is served here. But when I move to Canada none of us can eat the meat provided at these outlets! I agree that at least 1 halal Mc Donalds should be opened up in Canada... Its a shame that these guys havent done that yet!

I understand variety of meats (chicken, pork, beef, fish.....) but what difference it would make if it is halal or non-halal.

I know few people who eat fish-o-fillet from McDonalds as fish is always considered halal.

I also know few other who will eat everything from any fast food( except pork).

Why you people have 2 standards if it is totally religious.

Ok, as per your saying, McDonalds opens one such restuarent in Ancaster. Will you go and eat there?

Dear gtaataxi & Moving to Canada,

1) The reason why responsible food outlets like Wendys and Macdonalds don’t allow Halal meet is because the halal practice is considered animal cruelty and animal torture by PETA and every mentally-balanced person in this planet.

2) Here is what PETA has to say about this practice:
“Animals killed by halal (according to Islamic law) cannot be stunned before their throats are cut, which means that many animals—including the cow shown in this video—fight and gasp for their last breath, struggling to stand while the blood drains from their necks. “

http://www.peta.org/b/thepetafiles/archive/2009/12/08/the-cruelty-behind-muslim-ritual-slaughter.aspx

3) For non-muslims like us, the rights of mute and helpless animals are far more important and superior than all your religious rights combined.

Kindly review the above PETA website and please sign the below petition to ban Halal meat in this planet.

http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/ban-halal-meat-now.html

Thanks and please have a Halal free day,

Seenappa

Nice post Seenappa.

I respect all religions .... and I have lot of good Muslim friends. I believe it may not be necessary to be cruel to poor animals on the name of any religion. Basically what I feel is ... most of them do not think much about it and "Halal" is more obsession for the followers as they got used to it from the childhood.

I find it intriguing that it's always a part of the people of this group that would not deviate from its beliefs, would not tolerate other beliefs, would not condemn violence by their group, take offense at free speech about themselves by others, but expect everybody in the world to bend backwards to accommodate them.

Remember this .... the day it makes good business sense for Wendy's and McDonald's to serve halal food ... they will do so PETA or no PETA !!!!

Now you surely must be joking if you believe that Wendy's and McDonald's are interested in avoiding "cruelty"and "animal torture" ... for crying out loud they kill the animals to get the meat ... so tell me how is that not cruel .

In any case since you seem to be PETA fan ... here is something for you ... a piece of Mccruelty http://www.mccruelty.com/why.aspx

I can understand if you are vegan and you have something against killing of animals for meat .... but to say that you are for "rights of mute and helpless animals" while you are enjoying your "big boy"burger is just being hypocritical.

F.Y.I .... I am also a member of PETA ...... People for Eating of Tasty Animals :D
