Hi all

I've got PR for me, my wife and my daughter. I lost my father recently, can't leave my mother back here in India.

Is there a way where we all can move together?
If I move first can I sponsor her in the next One Year?
How long does it take for a parent to get a PR?
If we get out citizenship, will the process of reunion become faster?


I am really confused....my entire decision for moving depends on this...

Unfortunately, the current timeline for parental sponsorship is 7-8 years. It makes no difference if you are a PR or citizen. You have to prove annual income above a certain level to be eligible to sponsor, so you would have to wait for atleast one year before you can start the sponsorship process. Another option, is to get her a 10 year visitors visa, which will enable her to stay for atleast 6 months at a time. You can then ask for an extension of another six months, before she will have to leave the country.
