we are flying to India via London UK in december and will be London Heathrow for 10 hours. Since we have Canadian passport, we can go outside, Any one has any suggetsions on what we can visit in London in few hours and come back to Airport wihin 6-7 hours. Also, where can we store our luggage. Any help will be appreciated.
You can certainly visit the area near the Parliament (Big Ben) as well as the area near tower of London. Visit the tower of london first, if you like the museums. That way, if it takes long time, then you can head back to the airport without visiting Big Ben area.
I have done this personally. I just had a hand bag with me, so I did not need any place to store my luggage. The Tube (london metro) starts from the airport - very convenient. The ticket windows are one staircase below the immigration counter.

Awesome advice! I will explore excursion buses, london tower and parliament on internet further. Thanks very much ash and Cdn_dude!
The Tower of London would need 2-3 hours the least so given 10 hours , I would recomend you against it ..... Try the following :
Parliament St , Big Ben , The Thames .
Trafalgar Square and nearby Covent Gardens / Oxford St.
London Eye
The London Bridge ...
Get yourself pictured at these places ....
Or simply take a hop on hop off bus .

Keep in mind London Tube is Zoned. So ensure you get tickets for the Zone you wish to cover. You can also get a Travelcard, which is valid for all-day unlimited travel. That will be cheaper and you don't have to struggle for change everytime.

Also keep in mind different pricing (day pass) based on busy hour and day of the week, the prices can vary day and night, so plan accordingly. you can catch the tube from airport.
Enjoy,
