Your Indian passport should have the "cancelled" stamp in it. When you travel, you travel with your Cdn passport and OCI card.
If the passport already has cancelled stamp, is it mandatory to pay the fee and get surrender certificate. I don't get the clear information on any website.
According to website of CGI New York, it is required even if you have your OCI etc.

No certificate required on acquisition of another country;s citizenship if Indian passport has been endorsed with "cancelled" stamp.
"""Even though your passport has a cancelled stamp, you need to formally renounce your citizenship as per the prescribed format and obtain a Surrender Certificate as a proof of having done so. However, if your passport was cancelled due to acquisition of foreign nationality and has an endorsement to this effect, no Surrender Certificate is required."""
Baba, koi yeh samjao mujhe !!!
Under what other circumstances would you have a cancelled stamp on your Indian passport other than acquiring a foreign citizenship ?

hahah Dimple, it's really funny.
I have a question for you guys. I am planning to visit India in July, and haven't got my Indian passport cancelled so far after obtaining my citizenship last year. Do you know if I need to bring my Indian passport to the Consulate when visiting there for Indian visa? I am not OCI or PIO holder thus far.
Please advise.
Thanks.
If this is your first (Indian) visa since becoming Canadian, they will definitely ask for your Indian passport to verify if it is cancelled. If not, they will cancel it and return it to you.
