Any idea as to why?
is it because of the recession and the lesser spending by people in restaurants?
Sitting in India, I would like to know.

One of the reason, Most of restaurants increased price....we were used to go in same restaurant in Mississauga in 2007 to 2009 that time bill was around $25 (for 3 people) last week we went in same restaurant found bill for $39 (same items).
2. now a days most of grocerry stores carrying ready stuff (Khiru) for Dosa, idli,etc..
most of the family getting this stuff from stores and they start to stop to go at restaurants anymore.
