Hi Vanshika,

I want to congratulate you on retaining Indian traditions in Canada.

Whicheverbway you choose you need a Guruji for your family. Our Indian tradition involves the following :

Mata, Pitha, Guru and Deivam.

When our parents are accessible on Skype the other alternative is to have a family Guruji.

We need a Guruji in our life like a company needs a Chartered Accountant. He is needed at the time of incorporation to eventual closing, bankruptcy or take over.

The same way we need a person right from the birth (punya jananam) to death (13 day karma) to annual remembrance.

Many of us look at the cost of the priest. We will spend 50 bucks on a pizza or 60 bucks per hour on a plumber or electrician. If we do not support a Guruji they will disappear (pure economic supply -demand).

Then you'll need to use a DVD/Skype to contact a Guruji in India.

Luckily thanks to Canada most of the Guruji have their own temples and you'll get a tax deductible receipt for which you can get full tax deduction.

I strongly suggest you also do a Ganapathi Homam and also there various groups( highly established professionals including bank VP's, IT CONSULTANT s making 100 per hour, Doctors) who will come to your home on a predetermined date to chant Vishnu Sahasanamam at NO cost and you observe the difference in your household in terms of health, wealth and mental peace.

You could also organize a holy cow to walk through your home(talk to your Guruji)to bless your home with good health, wealth and mental peace.

I'm taking the liberty of suggesting these to you so that the almighty can give you the best in life and health.

Another thing you could do is to organize a preethi bhoj with your friends at various temples for eg., Vaishno Devi temple at Oakville.

Whenever you want a peaceful solution for problems chant Hanuman Chalisa or offer Vada Malai for Hanuman in a South Indian temple and see the difference.

God Bless and thank you for holding the Indian tradition high alive in a foreign land.
