A friend of mine in India is interested in a Havanese pup but wishes me to mediate this so as to check the living conditions of the pet / parents as well as ensure the transaction .... There are 2 options :
a. The breeder exports the pup to the Indian address .
b. I buy it from the breeder here and arrange sending it across ...
To me the 2nd option appears more certain as when I would be going through the formalities , I would ensure everything has been done .....
Has anyone ever done an export of a pup / known some one who has done it and can advise what steps need to be undertaken with regards to CBSA , Indian Customs and upkeep of the pet during the flight ??
Seeking advice on how to go about doing this ??
Also if some one could provide reference to some reputable breeder in Ontario , it would be appreciated ..... I understand preliminary medicare needs to be taken care of before sending across .....

If you are traveling, you may take the puppy with you.
You will buy the ticket
You will take a certificate of vaccination from your vet.
You get an identify tag for your dog (name, breed, color, and/or ID # ).
Please check the formalities with Indian customs.
Thanks Gurram .. No I do not intend to travel with the pup but it is informative to know these details . I shall try to contact the breeders if they can ship it .
