I have applied for family immigration and waiting for my medicals to come. I am expecting this to happen in a month’s time. Even though I have applied, I am still in confusion if everything goes fine with my file, should I go to Canada or not? I am still not 100% convinced with a decision of going to Canada. I am doing pretty ok here in India. It is all about quality of life, health care and education system that is taking me to Canada
Even if I decide to go and make Canada as my place to live, I am thinking of two options, First, I go with my family complete the formalities and come back to India and then see the right time to move. I cannot take a risk of leaving everything here and take my wife and kid to a new country with no job in hand. Second option, I go first and do the initial set up, stays for few months and then ask my family to come later.
1)Can some one suggest which is the better option?
2) How much time does it take to get PR formalities done once you land in Canada (PR card etv.)?
Can anyone is this forum help me with my confusions? Please share your or your known experiences?
Thanks

Dude:
Seems you got stuck between approach and approach conflict.
As you know this topic is always discussed and there is no definite answer. I do not know your age, profession etc., Anyway, the simple answer and BEST advice is:
If you are in Middle age:
You Migrate to Canada only If have good money ( Bank Balance) / income earning properties and basic living is not a problem for you where ever you are. It takes couple of years for you ( say 4 to 5 years) to settle in Canada after going through all ups and downs. IF YOU ARE NOT A CASH PARTY .... YOU BETTER FORGET IT.
Also: If you classify yourself below average, not having good money in the banks, no influence (political) and your job is not really a high paying, secured or exciting .... then move to CANADA immediately.
The point is if you are an average person ( financially, politically, socially etc) then DO NOT COME TO CANADA.
The main thing how you are self motivated to settle and be success ful in foreign country. If you are genuinely interested and prepared to withstand against all odds, then only Canada is your cup of tea under current circumstances.
I also agree with the points explained by ashedfc
It is quite normal to go through these emotions of "should I or should I not immigrate". The fact is, some immigrants look back at their decision to immigrate with regret while some are happy they made the move. Nobody knows which side you'll end up.
Getting a PR card in some cases has taken 2-3 months. And if there is a problem with your photo, it takes longer. However, be aware that if you chose to go with ashedfc's suggestion (land and return), you don't have to wait until you get your PR card. Somebody can mail it to you when you are back or (if you don't have a PR card), you can return to Canada with a travel document as long as you retain your PR status.
I too agree that you should get your PR and then decide. But I would disagree that you wait a few years to do that. Its easier to face the challenges when you are younger rather than later in life when you might have more responsibilities (aging parents, children's adjustmement etc).
Also, from what I have seen the people who succeed here decide to make it one way or the other. If going back is always at the back of your mind you might not give it all it takes to succeed here.
Coming here without the family initially may also be a good idea. That way expenses are less at the onset when you are stilll looking for work.

This is a million dollar question: whether to come to Canada ot not? It depends whether you would prefer to start a fresh right from the scratch. If you are ready to do that my friend a secure future for you and your family lies here in Canada.
It depends how you perceive: a glass is half full or half empty.

man this case is diffrent by person to peson.
Some person are lucky , they come here apply few days and have job in hand . they think like that they are in heaven and they got a golden spoon.
In many case people start labour job and then can not come out.
In my opinion u can come here alone look for all opportunity , stay as paying guest which is cheper option with all facilities like lodging and bording.
get PR card and decide within three months that this country is right option for u or not?
Dont look only one person's opinion because in this country 75% will give u negative opinion and only 25% people will give u positive opinion towords stay in canada. though out of 75% people said negative about canada but still dont go back to india.
make all option open, come here, look and decide yourself.
