My experience is not so recent. 6 month ago. Had absolutely no problems as it was totally company sponsored. The customs guy looked at the letter given by hte company and said go to the cashier and pay the fees and collect your visa.

Hi i just wanted to know about TN Visa information. Can a person on TN Visa in US apply for H1B and then apply for GC. Is it possible and is it legal. Please reply.

It is very much possible and legal. As TN can't be converted to GC, this is an alternative a lot of people use.

I am planning on applying for TN visa at a border close to home next week. My family is not in Canada right now as they are visting relatives in US. Is it required that when I apply for TN status at the border my family/dependents should also accompany me to the border to get their TD status. Can I obtain TN for myself and take them to the border at a later date to obtain their TD status. Also, my wife is not a Canadian citizen. Is she still eligible for TD status? Any feedback will be appreciated...Thanks.

I read the threads about TN1 and see that TN1 should not be a major problem if you have a relevant work experience.

Did read a bit of degree evaluation but I am not sure if I have a degree in mechanical engg but my job is a computer programmer what help does a degree evaluation give?

Is it more necessary to have a proper documentation of resume and work expierience in the field or area in which the job is offered.

w.r.t Car --> My car is leased can I take it to the US with proper documentation from the car leasing company or not.

Does the offer letter need to mention clearly that the job is for a duration of 1 year or it is ok to have a job which is permanent in nature.

The lawyer mentioned that my wife who does not have a Canadian Citizenship should apply for TD visa at the nearest US Consulate. Any folks with any exp in this connection please give some more information.

I am going for my TN1 next week.
