It is absolutely necessary to have proper documentation regarding your work experience/degree etc.
Search the web for sample TN letters. It is NOT ok to say your job is more than 1 year.
Also, your job description should match the job specification list exactly, regardless of what you actually will be doing.
Whether you can take the car outside Canada or not is upto your leasing company/bank.
I am ready with all my documentation for TN1.
I was wondering if anyone has done this,
1) Gone to the airport
2) Received the TN1 stamping. Go to US for a visit... (So if asked at the visa office mention this intention very clearly that I am at the airport right now only for a visa I will go back and come to the US in 2 weeks.)
3) Come back to Canada.
4) Resign from current job.
5) Join in US in 2 weeks after the mandatory notice period is over for the Canadian employer.
6) Complete the joining and other SIN Card etc procedures for the US Based companies..
Any help and or pointers in this direction greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance for your time.

I am planning on applying for TN visa at a border close to home next week. My family is not in Canada right now as they are visting relatives in US. Is it required that when I apply for TN status at the border my family/dependents should also accompany me to the border to get their TD status. Can I obtain TN for myself and take them to the border at a later date to obtain their TD status. Also, my wife is not a Canadian citizen. Is she still eligible for TD status? Any feedback will be appreciated...Thanks.

So what do I do, if I understand you correctly....
Say yes I am joining today and then come back and actually join when you want to.
Do they actually ask when you are joining?
is there any problem saying I am coming back and then joining in 2 weeks....

ok so the visa at calgary airport took exactly 2 minutes with all complete documentation.
I have applied for the SSA Number which these days takes about 6 weeks.
My company has allowed me to start work. The benifits start after I get a SSA Number.
Strangely I was able to rent a apartment and open a bank account without a SSA number.
Hope this helps.
Any more expieriences about whether to take a leased car to the US? Most of the people I spoke to advised me not to...
