That's strange because I know somebody who works in another dealership who was mentioning that business couldnt be better ; It's a matter of perspective
I don't know about your friend, but i am working in Service dept and business is really really slow compare to last couple of years.

If you see the sales of new cars across North America, they have recovered nicely after the recession of 2008-09. Also, with the close to 0% financing available,it is much more sensible to purchase a new car and replace your old clunker, rather than make those trips to the dealership to service your old one. Also, the newer, fuel efficient models are another driving force (pun unintended)
for the new car sales.
