Hello everybody,

My wife landed in Saskatoon in March 2012 and started working for the SINP ie 960 hours clause. She was working as a server with a franchise of a brand. After working for 3 months she realized that the employer was very unprofessional and lousy. She asked them if they ever did SINP for anyone and they said NO and had no idea about it. My wife decided to changer her job immediately and did it. she served a months notice period to keep her employment history nice and positive.

She needed the letter from this employer stating the' start end date, number of hours worked, salary withdrawn and that she was a good worker with them and all that goes in that letter from employer'. At first they were not ready to give her any letter at all. Then on extreme pleading and request they agreed. My wife also told them the exact format in which she needs the letter. ( as per sinp)

Today she got the letter. ABSOLUTELY WRONG FORMAT. WRONG DATE. NO MENTION OF HOURS WORKED, NO USE TO US. ALSO WRONG NAME ON THE LAST PAY SLIP. But she also got the ROE from them which seems OK as of now. When she called them to tell that the actual letter is wrong and she needs it again, they said don't bother us again and hung up on her.

PLEASE TELL US WHAT CAN WE DO NOW ? WHEN WE WILL APPLY FOR THE SINP, WE WONT HAVE THE 1ST EMPLOYERS LETTER.
HOW CAN WE GET THE LETTER FROM THE EMPLOYER ? PLS STUDY THE MATTER AND PROVIDE US THE SOLUTION. 2 YEARS AND LOTS OF LACS WILL GO WASTE IF WE DONT GET THE SINP.

Also on the ROE the number of hours are less than what she actually worked. It says insurable hours. Now what is an insurable hour ?

Pls help, pls help pls help !

Welcome to Canada, where if you donot have the right contacts to help you, lakhs can go in waste.
Why donot you pay the employer some money to give you the exact format that you need. All people are after money in Canada and hence he /she will help you if you give money like $ 100 or $ 200 for the letter.
Insurable hours mean that it includes only hours for which the employer paid you money that is reported to the govt. for CPP/EI/Income tax calculation. Any money paid in cash will not come under this.
While I am not aware of Sask. rules, I belive that any company that gives you insurable hours can also give you the SNIP letter. There is a first time for every company. You can alsways pay the company money for that service.
Remember that the onus is not on your employer to fulfill SNIP conditions but on YOU to ensure that you provide the righ documentation. If you were on insurable hours and you are eligible for SNIP documentation (though you quit and you were not laid off), may the govt. agency like HRDC can help you.
I came to Canada in teh skilled catagory so i donot have to go through this process but man, no employer was willing to hire an immigrant such as me.

All the best.

peace

I dont understand what makes you feel so desperate. All you need is the ROE, an employers letter is only a supporting document, not necessary. You use it only if it helps your application or shred it.

Regarding the difference between actual hours and insurable hours, I believe it must be some kind of reporting error from your employer and you can call your employment office to have it corrected if the difference is 'sizeable'. If it is a couple of hours, it should not make a huge difference to your SINP application - maybe she will need to work a couple of hours more to qualify.

There is nothing to worry.

Hiren

The OP was answered with all his queries in detail in another thread , but seems like still panicking on a worthless piece of paper which will not be required for filing SINP.

@ Mr Tamil: Thank you. I have thought of the same now. We have asked the book keeper of the company to provide us the letter and charge whatever he wants to charge from us. We are waiting for the reply.

@ Mr Chedda: Sir, I am desperate because the govt has replied yesterday that I need that letter. The website says that I need that letter. Yes if I dont get the letter, I will have no option but to add the ROE in the file as a proof. But when will I have more peace of mind ? When I have attached exactly what they have asked me to do or when I have supported my statement with another document in leiu of the primary document ? My wife has spoken to atleast 40 people in s'toon, people who have got SINP in the last 1 year, or who are in the process of getting it now and everybody has attached the employer's letter in the said format and not the ROE, though ROE says it all. I being the first person who will deviate from the norm and put ROE in stead of the said letter, makes me panick. Thank you for your time Sir.

@ Tamilkuravan:

Sir, through Service canada we found out that the number of hours are also wrongly
reported in the ROE by the employer. Hundred hours less.

How could he afford to do that in Canada ? Its awful. Now I cant even attach the ROE
in the application as I was planning 2 days ago.

The service canada lady who attended to my wife in the SC office said she has never heard such a bad treatment by an employer in her service history and made my wife write a complaint on a paper. She said some people have entered canada through the refugee clause and are capable of causing such problems.

Do pray for us. I dont want to lose this battle.

You do realize that this is misrepersentation. Paying the bookeeper to provide exactly what you need is wrong.

You can use the ROE.

You should contact the SINP and talk to them about your situation. If it is true your situation they will help you.
