Data plans can kill you..... Once you have a data plan, then it is impossible to keep track.... Exceeding the amount can be very expensive.... Even when you don't use the phone/Internet, it keeps searching and connecting on it's own....You can get bills of $500 and such without knowing how you reached there.....
My advise..... If you do take a data plan- take a sufficiently large one right from the beginning..... The incrementals are in $3-5 packages..... So moving from 3gb to a 4gb will cost you say $3.... Using the iPhone is an unparalleled pleasure.....
Don't take a data plan... If you have wireless at home and office.... Then you can make full use of the iPhone connecting on these....
Mobilicity etc.... There are a few companies offering packages like unlimited calling and text etc..... For 30 bucks or such... But there is a catch.... They are zone bound..... If you go out of the zone, then you will be charged for all calls, which can be very expensive.....
Choose a plan depending upon your work and needs..... Rogers is great quality but very expensive.....
All the best....
Hi cludo,
I agree with all what that have told you. However you have to draw you line by exploring your own requirements.
1) Do you only want to use your iphone or you want to pump some cash to buy another phone?
2) What are your requirements about the coverage? How frequent you will be travelling outside the zone area i.e. in roaming area?
3) How much data plan you want to use? In initial stages I only had 100 MB per month so I used to turn on only when required else I will always keep off so that I do not exceed. Now-a-days we also have various apps that can lock data plan usage once you hit your 1 GB or 500 MB, etc number.
4) What are the other features and how much day time calling minutes you want?
5) Most important, how much $$$$ you want to spend on monthly basis on your phone plan?
Decide these factors and think long term. If you feel mobilicity/wind is the best bet then you can sell your iphone and buy another phone from it for wind/mobilicity. If not then you can go to some other service provider.
Hope this helps!!
There you go:

Can you please share the name of the particular "App", so we all can benefit..
Yes, High vision!
That's the reason , I wrote in my previous post "if you can forget iPhone...", consider Mobiliciy.
Hi daavidy,
That's true you mentioned in your previous post but I have gave cludo different options to consider which ease cludo to make a decision.
