Has anyone done Indian Railways Online Booking?? Any feedback or suggestions to share regards booking process, which foreign credit cards they accept etc...
I have been consitantly using it.
In 2007, they used to accept only AMEX cards (from Canada). Now I beilve that they have many options. I book from SBI ATM card.
You are allowed 10 bookings a month. You will have to register your e-mail ID. with them.
It is a very easy options and the price of train fare is peanuts. However the server is very slow esp. at 8 am to 12 noon (IST) due to tatkal booking.
Peace

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
I have been booking my parents' tickets for last 2-3 years. Initially it was a bit pain when trying to pay by Credit Card now it improved a lot. .Very easy..sometimes painfully slow. especially during ST 8AM to 9:30AM.
Good luck.
Thanks tamilkuravan and bhootnath for ur response.....
Question is registration asks for Indian mobile no [ where they are supposedly to send the initial registration completion info..] as well as the address [ Would that be canadian or ur family's indian addr]....
Is there a way around to get the registration complete??
Also, it says one can only 10 bookings in a month??
e.g if u book one train for 6 people, is that considered 6 bookings or 1 ?? meaning can u book for all folks together??
Give your relative/person's mobile number who is travelling. Never tried putting dummy number though. The address is asked to complete Credit Card Authorization, you need to put your Canadian address else payment may not get processed.
One ticket with 6 passenger is considered as one booking. You can also write to their email address.
