Is there any significant advantage for Canadian citizen to live in Windsor with a 90K job offer in Detroit?
As I understand its more of a hassle to live in Windsor (Morning commute across border, higher Canadian taxes etc)
Can some one throw light on any advantages of living in Windsor?
None! Nada! Unless you own a house in Windsor.
If not, live and rent in Detroit within a close proximity to your workplace - less hassle, less traffic stress, and more cost effective, thus more time for yourself.
The only caveat is you could still be deemed tax resident of Canada (unless you have taken measures to become non-resident) and hence tax advantage may or may not be there.
Metro Detroit traffic could be as bad as any major city depending on the freeway. Traffic hassle will depend on how close you are to the workplace.
Advantages living in the US is saving toll crossing the border (hassle of border crossing is negligible for commuters these days), auto insurance, cheap food, less sales tax and definitely cheaper ice cream
Also, no hassle of x-change rates. Earn and pay in one currency.

If you want to live in Windsor then take the NEXUS card. otherwise commute will take time due to wait times.
