I am on H1, recently moved to Windsor, ON from Detroit and commute to work everyday to Detroit. We live in Windsor. What visa spouse needs to occasionally go to US. H4 is ok or should apply for B1/B2.

Our family had the same situation. I used H4 when I visited my husband in the USA, while living in Vancouver.
