Hi FH ,
The 586 no. above does not work for me . I am currently using MJ LD .
I have found that if I call any access no.s of providers like Rebtel , LocalPhone , Jumblo I am billed by MJ fr LD mins for the call @ 7c/m ...Adding 1c/m , it still comes to 1.7c/m as opposed to 2.8c/m from MJ ..I am okay with this !

Just hooked up MagicJack, got my number changed, and next thing I knew I couldn't use 'IndiaLD' Long distance access numbers. I will try a few more again.
But, what I wanted to know is whether someone used G3 Telecom for India calling. They are charging 1 cent/min to India. Pretty good I found so far.
So far, it's been a pain in the 'you know where' setting up MJ, and to top it all they blocked my Long Distance provider.
So much for ~$4/month. No way, I am going to use MJ's long distance (2.8 cents/min.).
Any other cheaper LD Provider that works fine with MJ+, and if someone used successfully? Please provide first hand information.
I, Sir, have been Royally sacrewed by jack magic. And sir, I lost a few buckaroos by their wise action. Which is, because, I cannot use and the balance that is left with the service provider, and it is in limbo land. All I get is buy MJ credit on their voice system. Now all I use it for is calls to Canada and USA. No Access number, I have tried a THOSAND or so access numbers, and none of them work., and all of them take me back to MJ: buy credit, voice response.
My 90 bucks are down the tube except for the NORTH AMERICAN Calls. That too they limit to NINETY Minutes. So, hang up after 80 or so, take a short walk and redial the same number and continue once more for 80 or so minutes.
You can also Use Google Voice and any other KEY PAD System to dial out. Even there, I tried to dial my own MJ # through Google Voice and they do not permit incoming calls through google. Some guys are smart. How smart??!!
{Did you see the H & R Block Tax Ad. Yes, the one where he shows his butt and the guy says that one I can't fix} Yes it hurts where the sun don't shine.
So much said about the MJ. Sure it is a great gadget. (Only if it will work for all of the numbers)
FH.
I could not find an EMOTICON.
lol.. FH, I can relate to that.
No wonder, my one day of fame ends this evening with Magic (truly) Jack. As of now, and as I called home it's not working despite of hooking it up with a high speed internet connection.
I think I would stick to my 'expansive' home phone with Shaw, which at least has been consistently running great without any issues. You get what you pay for.
Not worth my dime. Good it's not been 15 days yet, for I can return this piece of jack s#$% for a full refund. So bad, I couldn't get my $10 for a local Canadian number.
I too couldn't find an emoticon, except
FP ,
Magic jack have blocked all local access numbers from other providers unless you are willing to pay long distance charges for these numbers ..It does not work as before .
What I have started doing is - use MJ for free Canada / US calling and use Local Phone or Rebtel apps on wifi to call other long distance including India ...If you subscribe to one of their plans the price to India is .9c/m ....
Out of these 2 I have found Rebtel to be better ... There could be other such wifi call voip providers also .

Hi Friends,
Try Using G# telecom for long distance calling, not from MJ though.
Even G3 is providing similar services like vonage.
