Hello Friends,
I am on a business visit to Canada for 6 months. I would like to renew my passport. Can visitors renew Indian Passports in Canada?
I have visited the BLSI website and Consular General of India websites and found that they ask for a Canadian address proof, which I do not have. How do I get a Canadian address proof? please advise.
I have tried opening a bank account, but it is not possible without having Canadian government issued identity proof, neither am I able to get any utility bill on my name. Please advise.
Please clarify below :
AFAIK the visa duration is according to the PP expiry date . Are you saying that your visa is valid and your PP is expiring ??
Do you have any valid and legal reasons to stay in the country for longer ?
If yes than you should approach the Indian embassy at the earliest and seek their advice .

You are a visitor. By definition, therefore, you most likely cannot have a Cdn address as a residence. Neither can you hold a bank account or utility bill.
Indian consulate will ask for your legal non-immigrant status in Canada. Visitor status is not adequate proof for that purpose. You may be able to open a bank account; however, you will have to provide a darn good reason why you need a bank account.
