The surrender certificate application checklist states among other documents the copy of the Canadian passport. My question is that do you need to copy the whole passport or only pages with observations and the other thing is do you need to send the original landing paper (COPR) or a copy of it with your application. The Canadian passport is expected to be ready in a week's time.
Will appreciate if anyone can guide in this regard.
Thanks in anticipation.
Thank you very much Full House for your time and for providing the itemized list of documents above. I appreciate very much.
Do you still send the originals of no. 2 and 3 above if the application is Postal application? Will they return the originals as they will be needed for the OCI application later.
Thank you very much
It is customary to carry the ORIGINALS when you visit them and leave them a copy for their usage. You RETRIEVE the Originals back immediately, unless there are issues associated with it. Since the originals are yours and are issued to you and they are needed for other usage each and every day, you have a right to ask for them back Immediately after production and scrutiny.
If you are sending all of these by POST, please make sure that they are sent through a reliable COURIER, at a cost with a PREPAID Envelope or if a fee is charged, then a 'way bill' from the same courier with your address on it, so that you are SURE to get them back.
Most of the COURERs have a 'Prepaid way bill' service also. They only charge you if their services are used and only when the way bill that you provide is used. The main reason is because of their reliability and assurance and its trackability. You will have to create an account with them. It also provides you with a discount. Please check.
FH.
Also itemize the contents in your mail with 'O' for the Original.
That means either the "refugee" claim was false or the conditions have improved in the country they fled away from. Either way they need to be in the country they came from given current information

Thank you very much Full House for the information.
Hello Desis,
My son intends to apply for the OCI. He has been able to fill both Part A and Part B of the application form online and has saved as pdf. At the end of this pdf there is a list of enclosures/documents to be submitted along with the application. If you compare this list with the checklist provided by the BLS there is a lot of difference. The pdf list is asking very few documents whereas the BLS list is very long.
The question I am asking is which one to be used and in case of a postal application which originals need to be sent together with copies?
Grateful if anyone can clarify on this.
Thanks in advance good people.
