Hi folks.
I posted this in another forum earlier, posting it here now, I hope someone can help me out.
I am a Canadian citizen, currently residing in California, US on a green card status. I am in the process of applying for a PAN card in India for which I am required to include a copy of my Canadian Passport that has been attested by the Indian Consulate / Embassy.
The Indian Consulate General in San Francisco website says that before they will attest my passport copy, I have to first get signature verification from the issuing country of the document to be attested, which is Canada in my case. So, do I have to send my passport to the Canadian Consulate in LA? Is there a procedure to follow for this signature verification?
If someone has gone through it, could you kindly guide me as to how to get it done?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you.
Here in Canada there is a service called the PASSPORT VERIFICATION SERVICES. It costs $12 and you have to visit their offices with your Passport and other personal ID- ID's that you can bring in together with it and get the PP verification. If that also verifies the signature or not I do not know. If this is what you are seeking, then, you have to go to a CANADIAN Passport Office of Issue, close by where ever you are and ask them for such services.
Hope this helps you.
Also contact them at 1-800-567-6868. You can also access them from USA. Go through the prompts.
Good Luck.
